Three goat hides that were skinned by Lewis on his expedition to Tanzania in March 2024 -
The hides were tanned using Oak bark that was harvested in December.
The frame is Hazel with a piece of split ash to form the back support
all sown and tied together with a bone antler and sinew (dried tendons from a roe deer)
Natural clothing and textiles ultimately bring us closer to understanding the importance of utilizing every part of the animals the we interact with.
